The 1980's brought us over-sized tops, which we still wear today, and shoulder pads. Shoulder pads gave emphasis to your shoulders.

Bottoms:

In the 1980's mini skirts were very big and popular.  These short skirts allowed for more accessorizing.  Also, parachute pants were wide and flowed.

Dresses:

We were introduced to unit dresses in the 1980's. Unit dresses are a loose fitting, one size fits all dresses.  Also, dresses with frilly sleeves were very common.

Shoes:

Leg warmers were very hip and popular in the 1980's.  They were commonly wore with tennis shoes.

Women frequently wore loose skirts and shorts, as shown above.

Models of the 1980's were very outgoing and regained position of tiny waists and big busts.

This woman is a good example of a 1980's model.

Women would wear the trendy cowl neck sweater. Another popular trend was skin tight t-shirts.

The 1970's brought us the well known short shorts. Having flare was a popular trend that bell bottoms had reaching over 32 in. for the bottom leg hem.

Dresses:

In the early 1970's, flower printed dresses were really in style. Women were also in the habit of wearing ball gown dresses at home.  Bare-backed and low cut dresses were also extremely in at the time.

Shoes:

Boots of all kinds became very trendy in the 1970's.  Go-go boots hit the top of their fame in the 1970's.  Also, mid-height heels went very well with dresses of the time.
